1. Veronica Wolff’s THE WATCHERS, the start of a new YA series pitched as La Femme Nikita meets Mean Girls, featuring a runaway who is chosen, along with other teens, by a mysterious group to train for high-stakes covert missions – realizing only later that she is vying to become a Watcher, while the boys will become vampires, in a three-book deal.
2. Madeleine Roux’s ALLISON HEWITT IS TRAPPED, one woman’s story as she blogs, and fights back, the zombie outbreak, as originated on Help They Are Coming.
3. Hannah Schwartz’s three-book urban fantasy deal, for publication in 2011.
4. Lisa Desrochers’ debut PERSONAL DEMONS, about a good Catholic girl with a snarky streak who finds herself caught between an angel and a demon both fighting for her soul, and ultimately her heart, in a three-book deal, for publication Fall 2010.
5. USA Today bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s (aka Sharie Kohler) FIRELIGHT, the first in a series in which a girl who descends from dragons and breathes fire flees danger among her own kind and the humans that hunt her by escaping to the mortal world where she attends high school and falls for a boy with dark secrets of his own, in a three-book deal.
6. Jo Treggiari’s LUCKY, in which a teenage girl struggles to survive in a post-apocalyptic New York City.
