Feature Friday: Bond With Me by Anne Marsh

April 23rd, 2010 Angela Posted in Feature Friday 3 Comments »

Today’s “Feature Friday” is Bond With Me by Anne Marsh.  The book is scheduled to be released on August 24, 2010.  I’m really looking forward to reading this one because still intrigued by all things fallen angels.  I’m also adding this one to my Paranormal Romance Reading Challenge.

You can visit Anne around the web here: Website | Twitter

Synopsis (Product Description):

Fallen angels… They rule Moscow’s seedy underworld, promising untold pleasure to the females who dare to mate them. That promise – and Brends Duranov’s own raw sexual power – has hopefuls mobbing the velvet rope outside his elite club G2’s.

But Mischka Baran has no intention of hooking up with one of the Fallen. Not even after Brends gives her an unforgettable taste of the sin and seduction he can deliver with those wicked lips. She’s after information, not a stint as some Goblin’s toy of the month. What she doesn’t know is that with a sadistic killer carving up his brethren, Brends is playing for keeps, hunting the one woman whose bloodline can end the mayhem, whose bond can restore his lost wings.

Feature Friday: The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman

April 9th, 2010 Angela Posted in Feature Friday 3 Comments »

Today’s “Feature Friday” is The Grimm Legacy by Polly Shulman.  The book is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2010.  I love all things surrounding fairy tales so I’m definitely going to read this book.  It sounds so enchanting and the cover is absolutely beautiful.  You can read an excerpt here.

You can visit Polly around the web here: Website

Synopsis (Product Description):

What if fairy tale magic really existed?

Lonely at her new school, Elizabeth takes a job at the New York Circulating Material Repository, hoping to make new friends as well as pocket money. The Repository is no ordinary library. It lends out objects rather than books—everything from tea sets and hockey sticks to Marie Antoinette’s everyday wig.

It’s also home to the Grimm Collection, a secret room in the basement. That’s where the librarians lock away powerful items straight out of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales:  seven-league boots, a table that produces a feast at the blink of an eye, Snow White’s stepmother’s sinister mirror that talks in riddles and has a will of its own.

When the magical objects start to disappear, Elizabeth and her new friends embark on a dangerous quest to catch the thief before they’re accused of the crime themselves—or the thief captures them.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Homicide detective Charlotte Caissie is dedicated to bringing down the crime boss responsible for her father’s murder.  Using Jimmy Legere’s right hand man is a dangerous gamble, not just because of his ruthless reputation as more monster than man, but because her feelings for her mysterious and irresistible enemy are … complicated.  There’s just something about Max.

Rescued from the swamps as a child, Max Savoie owes Jimmy Legere his life. Existing silently in his rescuer’s shadow, he heeds only one voice.  Until Charlotte Caissie awakens his emotions and tests his loyalties.  Forced to step outside his cautious rules to save her, he risks more than his heart . . . he risks exposing his dark secret.

Working together means facing the truth about who and what they are, and what they need from one another.  If Max is the murderer she seeks, Cee Cee might be his next victim. She can’t afford to trust any man.  Good thing Max isn’t one.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Things get more complicated for Cee Cee when she’s appointed lead investigator in a high-profile murder that points to her preternatural lover. To prove him innocent, she must distance herself from her prime suspect, but tangled emotions don’t make it easy for her to stay away.  And neither does Max.

Left in charge of a criminal empire and protector of a clan of shadowy shape-shifters, Max walks a precarious line.  Can he believe the cunning stranger who claims he can teach Max the things he needs to know to stay alive—a conman who would betray anyone to make a profit—a man who may be a ruthless killer?

Pulled between her desire for justice and the man she loves, the harder Cee Cee fights to clear Max’s name, the more he pushes her away.  He’s protecting a dark truth that could blow the top off her case. And that means hiding his motives and lying to a woman who values truth above all. The woman who can save him . . . if he’ll let her.

Synopsis (Product Description):

A mysterious death begins a dangerous chain of events, forcing choices that mean no turning back as Max’s past catches up to him.  But as the unexpected discovery of a family thought lost to him threatens the existence of Max’s paranormal world, his awakening senses strain the bond he shares with Detective Charlotte Caissie.

Driven by instincts he can’t control, Max fights the need to claim his human mate. How can he protect her when she’s not safe with him? She’s strong enough to keep his secrets, but can she survive the test of his love?

Separating business from pleasure just got more difficult. To have Max, Cee Cee must face her greatest fears by accepting who and what he is . . . someone deadly, unnatural and outside the law she serves. Loving Max Savoie isn’t easy, but holding onto him could prove fatal.

Feature Friday: The Shadow Keepers Series by J.K. Beck

March 19th, 2010 Angela Posted in Feature Friday 3 Comments »

Today’s “Feature Friday” is The Shadow Keepers Series by J. K. Beck a.k.a. Julie Kenner.  When Blood Calls is the first book in the series and is scheduled to be released on September 28, 2010.  The second book in the series is called When Pleasure Rules and is scheduled to be released in November 2010.  No blurb yet for the third novel, When Wicked Rules, which will hit shelves in December 2010. I’m really glad that I discovered this series.  It sounds really amazing and I’ve been in the mood lately to discover a new vampire paranormal series.  I love the sexy cover art as well.  I will be adding When Blood Calls to my Debut Paranormal Romance Challenge because it’s a new series.  Stay tuned for more details this weekend.

You can visit Ms. Beck around the web here: Website | Blog | Facebook | Twitter

Synopsis (Product Description):

Sara Constantine is one of the country’s most tenacious prosecuting attorneys—and she’s just secured a well-earned promotion. At first she’s thrilled. Then she finds out her new job involves prosecuting vampires and werewolves. And nothing prepares Sara for the shock she receives when she meets the first defendant she’ll be trying to put away: Lucius Dragos, the sexy stranger with whom she recently shared an explosive night of ecstasy.

When Lucius Dragos kisses the beautiful woman sitting next to him at the bar, he’s only hoping to blend into the crowd and avoid the perceptive gaze of the man he’s following…and planning to kill. But what starts as a simple kiss to secure his cover ignites into a fierce hunger that leads to an all-consuming passion. Charged with murder, Luke knows Sara will do whatever it takes to see him locked away—unless he can convince her that he’s not the monster she thinks he is. And that might mean making the greatest sacrifice a vampire can make.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Seven innocents have been brutally murdered on the streets of Los Angeles, yet the Shadow Alliance has no suspects and no leads. And as more bodies are discovered, the age-old feud between the vampires and werewolves threatens to explode and turn the city into a living nightmare.

With her back to the wall, Lissa Monroe—a strong-willed, ravishingly beautiful succubus who entices men to surrender their souls—agrees to go undercover for the Alliance. Her mission: infiltrate the mind of werewolf leader Vincent Rand, a ferociously alluring enemy who has a powerful hold over her. Lissa has never lost control of her deepest desires, but Rand is an impenetrable paradox, a principled soldier who fears nothing—except perhaps the darkness of his own past. As the city of Angels teeters on the brink of apocalypse, these two adversaries must join together to have even the slimmest chance of surviving a more lethal enemy hidden in plain sight.

Feature Friday: Witchfinder: Dawn of the Demontide by William Hussey

March 5th, 2010 Angela Posted in Feature Friday 1 Comment »

Witchfinder: Dawn of the Demontide was just released in the UK on March 4, 2010.  I’m not sure when or if this series will be released in the U.S., but I’m definitely intrigued.  You can find out more about the Witchfinder series and read an excerpt by visiting the book site here: Book Site

Synopsis (Product Description):

“The first in a terrifying trilogy, read on if you dare: Jake could now see the demon fully.  Its body was a mass of steely sinew, its arms roped with muscle.  Six fingers sprouted from its hands, each ending in lethal talons.  The thing did not possess a nose; instead a large hole, bubbling with green mucus, occupied the middle of its face.  Mr Pinch’s tongue flickered between his teeth and slurped across his fat lips.  He was hungry.  When a violent storm rages around the little village of Hobarron’s Hollow, a young boy is sacrificed ‘for the greater good’.  His blood is used to seal a mystical doorway and prevent an apocalyptic disaster known only as the Demontide.  Twenty-five years later, another boy, Jake Harker, is about to be drawn into the nightmare of the Demontide.  Witches and their demon familiars stalk his every move, and his dreams are plagued by visions of a 17th Century figure known only as the Witchfinder.  When his father is abducted, Jake must face the terrible secrets kept by those closest to him and a shocking truth that will change his life forever . . .
