New Release: Ruins & Revenge by Lisa Shearin

May 4th, 2017 Kristie Posted in New Releases 1 Comment »

Lisa ShearinLisa Shearin’s new novel, Ruins & Revenge, released earlier this week! It is the ninth book in the Raine Benares fantasy adventure series. This novel starts up where the eighth book in the series Treasure & Treason ended. Books 8 & 9 are told from the POV of the long-time fan favorite, the goblin duke, Tamnais Nathrach.

About Lisa:

Lisa Shearin is the New York Times bestselling author of the Raine Benares novels, a comedic fantasy adventure series, as well as the SPI Files novels (The Brimstone DeceptionThe Dragon ConspiracyThe Grendel Affair), an urban fantasy series best described as Men in Black with supernaturals instead of aliens. Lisa is a voracious collector of fountain pens, teapots, and teacups, both vintage and modern. She lives on a small farm in North Carolina with her husband, three spoiled-rotten retired racing greyhounds, and enough deer and woodland creatures to fill a Disney movie.

You can visit Lisa around the web here: Website | Twitter | Facebook

Available May 2, 2017 from Lisa Shearin

About this Book:

An ancient power.

Beneath a mountain on an uninhabited continent is said to be a fabled city, a city occupied by an ancient goblin civilization founded for only one reason—to protect and defend the Heart of Nidaar, an artifact that can harness the forces of nature as a weapon.

An elite team of combat mages.

Chief mage and goblin duke Tamnais Nathrach must help the guardians keep the legendary power out of the hands of a malevolent goblin brotherhood and their otherworldly allies, whatever the cost. Together with his hand-picked team—which includes elf pirate (and team demolitions expert) Phaelan Benares—Tam descends into a vast subterranean world both wondrous and terrifying, a world laid with deadly traps and filled with apex predators from another age.

The countdown to the end of the world.

Some secrets are meant to stay buried. When the Heart of Nidaar is accidentally awakened, and aimed at the west coast of the Seven Kingdoms, Tam and his team are in a race against time to prevent the deaths of millions. To succeed, they must confront their deepest fears, unmask their darkest secrets, and reveal their shameful pasts, testing the bonds of friendship and beyond. To fail means death for them all—and the end of all life in the Seven Kingdoms.

September 12th, 2016 Kristie Posted in Discussion, New Releases, Publishing News Comments Off on Announcement: Remade (A Unique YA Serial Experience)

There is an exciting new publishing start up called Serial Box – which publishes serials! Every week you get a new episode of hot fresh fiction delivered straight to your phone. Just like with TV their episodes are team written and take just about 40 minutes to read so you can get your fix and keep on moving. They also release simultaneously in audio and makes it easy to toggle back and forth with their shiny app, because they’re cool like that!

One of their upcoming serials is called ReMade! It is Serial Box’s first YA serial. It’s a mashup of Contemporary YA and Sci-Fi dystopia that has authors the likes of Kiersten White and Gwenda Bond in the writers room. And it starts September 14th! The first episode is currently available for free at their website! The first installment of ReMade will be available September 14, 2016 with a new episode releasing every Wednesday until the season finale in December!

For more about ReMade:

You live. You love. You die.

Now RUN.
