Trailer Thursday: Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

July 30th, 2010 Angela Posted in Trailer Thursday 1 Comment »

Apologies for my late Trailer Thursday.  My pick is Paranormalcy by Kiersten White, which is scheduled to be released on August 31, 2010.  Paranormalcy is the first book in her Paranormalcy series.  I’m loving the book and the trailer is great.

You can visit Kiersten around the web here: Website | Blog | Twitter

Synopsis (Product Description):

Sixteen-year-old Evie’s job is bagging and tagging paranormals. Possessing the strange ability to see through their glamours, she works for the International Paranormal Containment Agency. But when someone–or something–starts taking out the vamps, werewolves, and other odd beasties she’s worked hard to help become productive members of society, she’s got to figure it out before they all disappear and the world becomes utterly normal.

Normal is so overrated.

Trailer Thursday: Beastly by Alex Flinn

May 20th, 2010 Angela Posted in Trailer Thursday 2 Comments »

Beastly is scheduled to hit theaters on July 30, 2010.  I recently purchased the book, but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.  The book sounds pretty good and the trailer looks awesome. I definitely have to see this on the big screen.

You can visit the movie site here: Beastly Movie

Synopsis (Product Description):

I am a beast.

A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.

You think I’m talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It’s no deformity, no disease. And I’ll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.

Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I’ll tell you. I’ll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I’ll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

Trailer Thursday: Killer Compilation

May 6th, 2010 Angela Posted in Trailer Thursday 1 Comment »

I decided to come up with a compilation Trailer Thursday.  Hope everyone enjoys the trailers.

Synopsis (Product Description):
When Lenah Beaudonte, a 500-year-old vampire queen, wakes up a human teenager at an ultra-cliquey prep school, she must choose between embracing the humanity she’s always craved and saving her new friends from her vicious coven. The first in a sizzling new YA series.

Synopsis (Product Description):

His love captivated her… his secrets might kill her.

Since her sister’s mysterious death, Persephone “Phe” Archer has been plagued by a series of disturbing dreams. Determined to find out what happened to her sister, Phe enrolls at Devenish Prep in Shadow Hills, Massachusetts—the subject of her sister’s final diary entry.

After stepping on campus, Phe immediately realizes that there’s something different about this place—an unexplained epidemic that decimated the town in the 1700s, an ancient and creepy cemetery, and gorgeous boy Zach—and somehow she’s connected to it all.

But the more questions she asks and the deeper she digs, the more entangled Phe becomes in the haunting past of Shadow Hills. Finding what links her to this town…might cost her her life.

Synopsis (Product Description):
When her boyfriend dies a most untimely death, Aura–who can see ghosts–is forced to reconsider her relationship with the living and dead in SHADE.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris– the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She’s determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.

Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts fiercely alongside her. Now Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves and finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax– but loving him means betraying her sister and has the potential to destroy all they’ve worked for.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Haunted by recurring nightmares since her mother’s disappearance over the Indian ocean three years before, fifteen-year old California girl Sienna Jones reluctantly travels with her psychiatrist father’s volunteer team to six-months post-tsunami Indonesia where she meets the scarred and soulful orphaned boy, Deni, who is more like Sea than anyone she has ever met.

She knows they can’t be together, so why can’t she stay away from him? And what about her old best friend-turned-suddenly-hot Spider who may or may not be waiting for her back home? And why won’t her dad tell her the truth about her mother’s plane crash? The farther she gets from home, the closer she comes to finding answers.

And Sea’s real adventure begins.

Trailer Thursday: Blood Oath by Christopher Farnsworth

April 22nd, 2010 Angela Posted in Trailer Thursday 2 Comments »

Blood Oath, by Christopher Farnsworth is scheduled to be released on May 18, 2010.  Blood Oath is the first book in the Nathaniel Cade series, which is about a vampire sworn to protect the President and the United States from supernatural threats.  I listed this book as one of my most anticipated reads of the year and love this video clip.

You can visit Chris around the web here: Website | Blog | Twitter | Book Site | Facebook

Synopsis (Product Description):

This much is true…

In 1867, a young sailor was convicted of murdering two crew mates and drinking their blood.

The papers called him a vampire.

The President of the United States pardoned him, sparing his life. He spent the rest of his days in an asylum for the criminally insane.

At least, that’s the cover story…

Trailer Thursday: Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson

April 15th, 2010 Angela Posted in Trailer Thursday 4 Comments »

Claire de Lune, by Christine Johnson is scheduled to be released on May 18, 2010.  The synopsis sounds interesting so I’m looking forward to reading the book.

You can visit Christine around the web here: Website | Blog

Synopsis (Product Description):

Hanover Falls hasn’t had a werewolf problem in over one hundred years. Seattle, Copenhagen, Osaka–they’ve had plenty of attacks. But when humans begin dying in Claire Benoit’s town, the panic spreads faster than a rumor at a pep rally. At Claire’s sixteenth birthday party, the gruesome killings are all anyone can talk about. But the big news in Claire’s mind is the fact that Matthew Engle–high-school soccer god and son of a world-renowned lycanthropy expert–notices her. And flirts with her. A lot.

That night, Claire learns that she is the latest in a long line of Benoit werewolves, and that contrary to popular belief, all werewolves are female. Killing humans is forbidden by the code of the pack, but a rogue werewolf has been breaking that law, threatening the existence of Claire’s new pack. As the pack struggles to find and fight the rogue werewolf and Claire struggles with her lupine identity, her heart and her loyalties are torn in two. Claire must keep her new life a secret from even her best friend–and especially from Matthew, whose father is leading the werewolf hunt…and with whom Claire is impossibly and undeniably falling head-over-paws in love.
