Taking Cover: 8 Hot New Covers

I have a few covers to share with everyone. First up is Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey.  The book is scheduled to be released on December 8, 2011.  I think this is a beautiful cover.

Synopsis (Product Description):

A dark and dangerous forbidden love story about a Speaker who helps lingering ghosts pass to the spirit world and the Protector who has pledged to serve her.

Here is the cover art for Shadow Walker by Allyson James, which is the third installment in her Stormwalker series.  The book is scheduled to be released in June 2011.  I like this cover.  I don’t think it’s the best in the series so far, but it’s still very nice.  The like the Firewalker cover the best.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Racing her motorcycle down a lonely winter highway, Stormwalker Janet Begay feels the ground collapse beneath her feet. After tumbling two hundred feet into an underground cavern, she manages to escape with help from her sexy dragon-shifter boyfriend, Mick—but not before they disturb some dark forces.

As Janet contends with a hotel inspector intent on putting her out of business, as well as her grandmother, who’s taken up residence, Mick’s behavior becomes strange and erratic, until he is a clear danger to Janet and her friends. Janet’s drag-queen, attitude-ridden magic mirror insists that Mick has been “touched by shadows,” and the Stormwalker realizes that someone is out to enslave her dragon. Now she must free Mick before he kills her.

Here is the cover art for The Breaking by Marcus Pelegrimas, which is the fifth installment in his Skinners urban fantasy series.  The book is scheduled to be released on June 1, 2011.  This is a pretty cool over.  I like what the art department has done with this series.

Here is the cover art for Blood of the Wicked by Karina Cooper, which is the first book in her new Dark Mission paranormal romance series.  The book is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2011.  This is such a sexy cover.  I also really like the fonts.  I’m really looking forward to reading this one.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Jessie Leigh is an independent witch who has made an art out of deception. Just another faceless drudge in a city that teems with them, she has stayed three steps ahead of a society eager to punish her for a history she had nothing to do with. When a witch hunter comes looking for her missing brother, she’s going to have to re-evaluate everything she ever thought she knew. Or wanted.

Silas Smith is a missionary, a soldier who has never been good at anything else. Forced into a twisting maze of lies and half-truths, he must protect the woman he thinks is human, manipulate her into finding the brother who isn’t, and fight the attraction that binds them more firmly than any Church agenda before she ends up another dead notch on his battered soul.

Here is the cover art for Devil Without a Cause by Terri Garey, which is the first book in her new Devil’s Bargain paranormal romance series.  The book is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2011.  This cover is hot as hell.  I love the synopsis as well.  I haven’t read anything by Terri before, but I’ll definitely read this one.

Synopsis (Product Description):

Idle hands are the Devil’s workshop…
Temptation and seduction are the tricks of the Devil’s trade, and when offered the chance to regain his wings by playing guardian angel, Sammy Divine is hell-bent on doing things his way…

Faith McFarland is in need of a miracle. So desperate to save her sick child, she’s willing to make a deal with the Devil: steal a ring worn by Finn Payne, the bad boy rock star who long ago sold his soul for rock n’ roll. Temptation and seduction become necessary evils, yet Faith’s salvation means Finn’s damnation… because the ring is all that stands between him and Hell. Falling in love was never part of the bargain, but now that they’ve tasted heaven in each others’ arms, can they convince the Devil to give up his due?

Karen Kincy unveiled the cover at for Bloodborn, which is the second book in her Other series.  The book is scheduled to be released in September 2011.  This cover is so striking.  I really like it.

Synopsis (Product Description):

It isn’t working. The doctor said it would, but it isn’t, even though I keep taking the pills, and I keep seeing Dad sneak into the bathroom and count how many are left. As if I would stop taking them. As if I would let myself become a beast.

Brock Koeman lost his brother to werewolves. Now he’s in danger of losing himself. Bitten by a werewolf at sixteen, he fights the transformation, taking the excruciating pain as a punishment for his mistakes. With the help of a risky drug called Lycanthrox, he’s managed to stay human for two full moons. But he knows he can’t last much longer.

Hungry for revenge, Brock vows to kill the silver wolf who bit him. But Brock’s ex, the fiery Cynthia Lopez, still cares about him enough not to let him do anything suicidally dangerous—never mind that Cyn gets her thrills from danger herself. Together again, the heat between them rekindles, but Brock feels like a beast beside her beauty. He can’t stay with her; he can’t ignore the werewolves howling outside his window. When he hunts down the pack, Cyn doesn’t sit on the sidelines. She’s right beside him as they get taken hostage and start running with the werewolves, the police hot on their tails. Brock has to get a grip on who he truly is—before the wolf within kills him, or someone else does.

Here is the cover art for Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst, which is the first book in her new series.  This story is about a vampire girl who develops a conscience after she is stabbed through the heart by a unicorn’s horn.  I’m really looking forward to this one.  The book is scheduled to be released on September 13, 2011.  This is a great cover.  The neck is a bit long, but I still really like it.

I love the Shattered Souls cover and the blue to red changes of the Raised by Wolves series.
I preferred the first cover for the Other series, the second one isn’t as original looking.
    Thanks for posting them.
