When I put out a call for help out a few months ago, I was really worried about the type of response that I would get. I really thought that I wouldn’t be able to find any help at all. I’m very pleased to say that I had a fantastic response to my application. So many enthusiastic and talented applicants made the decision really hard for me. I’ve decided to bring on a few team members and I hope that you enjoy their insights and personalities as much as I do.
We have been spending some time getting things setup for the new site launch design, as well as getting everyone trained in the different facets of blogging on the WordPress interface. Our introduction comes today from Macie. Macie is going to do reviews for us, and run our Dystopian Reading Challenge this year. You can read some of Macie’s lovely reviews after this post. Please welcome Macie to the team.

When I was in elementary school, I challenged myself to read every book on the long shelf of fiction in my library during the early days of young adult literature. I’d like to say I did, but I was only nine, and there were a lot of books. What did happen was that my yearning for great, new books grew to huge proportions. As I grew older, my addiction to books found new fixes with each new series I came across, many of which I still read. To work with books to some degree is my dream.
I am a senior at OSU, and about to graduate with a BA in English. I live in a little house with my dog, three cats, and two geckos. Besides reading, I love to draw, paint, and just create in general. Some of my interests include Doctor Who, film, trying out new art materials, and finding interesting buttons in antique shops.
Some of my favorite authors that have been with me since the beginning and new ones that I have only recently come to love are Kelley Armstrong, Diana Wynne Jones, Rick Riordan, and Tamora Pierce. I am finding new authors all the time, as well as rereading my old books, so book recommendations are often directed my way. I am very excited for this opportunity and happy to join the Dark Faerie Tales team!
