When In New Orleans…

I love the city of New Orleans. Love it.  Sure, the city comes with plenty of old ghost stories, but the magic of New Orleans is what makes the place so great.  When I started writing my Fallen books, I knew that I would set all of the stories in this wonderful city.  So, to give you a quick overview about things that you should and shouldn’t do while in the Big Easy, I am going to turn this post over to the fallen angel Sammael (Sam), the hero from ANGEL BETRAYED.

According to Sam…5 Things you should definitely do in New Orleans…:

1. Do raise a little hell.  If you don’t do it, then I’ll have to.

2. Do beware of the humans on Bourbon Street. They get wilder than a pack of shifters.

3. Do begin your explorations at midnight. All of the best fun happens when the moon is high in the sky.

4. Do always look over your shoulder before entering any alley. You never know who’s watching you. Angels love to perch over at the St. Louis Cathedral.

5. Do plan to stop at a local voodoo shop. A little magic can’t hurt, right? Oh, wait, it can.

Now, for the 5 things you should NOT do in New Orleans:

1. Do not become prey for vampires. The bloodsuckers love to hang out in the cemeteries, so try to avoid night tours there.

2. Do not be afraid to visit some local haunted spots. I’d start with dinner at Arnaud’s.  Dinner and a ghost? Do you want to pass that up? No.  And I’ve heard the place is to die for.

3. If you’re visiting during the summer, do not head out for long explorations during the day. Seriously, it’s hot as all hell out there.

4. Remember me telling you to visit haunted spots? Let me make a little addendum there. Do NOT visit the La Laurie house.  Just, don’t, okay?  Too many pissed off ghosts haunt that place.

5. Do not run up to the locals and ask where the vampires and werewolves hang out. They won’t tell you where we are. And you’ll just look foolish. Simply know that we’re here, watching you, and maybe waiting to pounce.

Hope you enjoy your visit to New Orleans…

Now, how about a giveaway? Want to win a copy of ANGEL BETRAYED? Just tell me one thing that you’d love to *do* in New Orleans.

And here’s the blurb for ANGEL BETRAYED so you will know more about the book you may win!

Sammael–call him Sam–was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn’t working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what’s making his life difficult is a bad girl…

Seline O’Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she’s not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam’s virtue is questionable, but he’s smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she’s getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide…

Love Sam’s advice about visiting NO!
Because I read so many PNRs and many take place in this awesome city, I would love to do a site-seeing tour of graveyards, bars, and all of the cool haunted places. :)
