Welcome to the world of the Dark Warriors…
When most people hear the word they think of bagpipes, haggis, and kilts. Few know of the other world, a world that has been alive in the mist and mountains of the ancient land since the dawn of time.
There is magic Scotland. It’s in the air, the lochs, the very earth. Those that have a link to Scotland feel it when they stand upon the land.
No one knows when the Druids began, but once the magic was in their blood they could do amazing things. Or horrific, dreadful things. A Druid had two choices. They could use the pure magic they were born with, or they could undergo a ceremony where they gave their soul to the Devil in exchange for black magic, thereby becoming a drough.
Good or evil. It’s a choice everyone makes, but once a Druid makes that choice, there’s no turning back.
Through the passage of time, the Druids’ magic began to fade from lack of use, fear of what they were, or because they diluted the magic in their blood with another. Many Druids never know they even have magic.
That wasn’t the case for me, Danielle Buchanan. I was but a small girl when my parents died, and I was sent from America to Scotland to live with my aunts. It was there that Aunt Josie pulled me into her lap and put our palms together.
She looked at me and said, “You’ve magic in you, child. Just as I do. I’ll teach about magic and your heritage. You’ve come home, Dani. A Druid always comes home.”
I didn’t know then that my fate had been sealed. Magic was a wondrous thing. Aunt Josie was true to her word and taught me everything she knew. None of us was prepared for uncovering just what my special magic was – touching an object allowed me to see who it belonged to.
But it didn’t stop there. Once it told me who it rightfully belonged to, I had to take it to that person or suffer unimaginable pain.
For years I went out of my way to make sure I encountered few objects like this. But everything changed on New Year’s Eve when I found an old key. It told me I needed to go to MacLeod Castle, but everyone knew there was no MacLeod Castle.
I had no choice but to take the key were it directed. I had no idea it would dump me in a world filled with magic and death, immortal Highlanders, and…love. I should’ve known though.
There is magic in Scotland. I’m a Druid. I feel that magic in my blood, in my soul.
