Hey everyone, this is Lana from Moonlight, Lisa Kessler’s new shifter series. I’m here today with Lisa to talk about Reno and Lake Tahoe, and I’ll interview Lisa a little along the way. Sound good?
I rolled into Reno, Nevada, on the night of the New Moon, trying to outrun some shadowy characters who were following me from Los Angeles. I had no clue that I stumbled into a werewolf pack’s territory, and I also didn’t realize that during the new moon each month I wasn’t sleep walking. I was shifting. Yeah, I thought it was crazy too, but I’m a believer now. I shift my form into a big black jaguar. I’m pretty sure I’m ferocious too.
How about we pause here to ask Lisa why she chose to set the Moon Series in Reno… Lisa?
Thanks Lana! When I started writing Moonlight it was a short story, and Reno seemed like the ideal place for a werewolf pack. Why? There were actually a few reasons. First, it’s within driving distance to the woods and Lake Tahoe. If I were going to shift into a big wolf once a month, that’s where I’d like to do it.
The other nice thing about Reno is that it really is the Biggest Little City in the World.
I’ve been there a few times, and I fell in love! Downtown is full of the twinkling lights of Vegas with casinos and hotels, but when you drive a few miles away it’s much more rural. Perfect for Adam’s horse ranch, and for the Pack itself to have different jobs and stay in one area. Since wolves are very Pack oriented, I needed a place that would suit all of their different personalities and careers, and Reno fit the bill.
Plus while I was in Reno it snowed and for the first time in my life snow fell on my hair!
As a native San Diegan that was super cool! J Anyway, I was in love and had so much fun setting my Moon Series in such a great city! I got to include hotels and restaurants I had visited, and now I have another excuse to go back, right?
Lana here… I’m definitely enjoying Reno. And here’s another thing I’ve discovered as a fictional character. There are enough people drifting through Reno that anything can happen. It’s thrilling and dangerous, but the Pack is always alert, and we’re watching for Nero now. It’ll be tougher for them to ambush us in the future.
Here’s the cover and blurb for Moonlight and Lisa told me to let you know we’re giving away 3 eBook copies of the first book in her Night Series, Night Walker.
And here’s a little insider info… Calisto’s Dark Knight is the stallion at stud on Adam’s ranch. He’s owned by a philanthropist in San Diego… It’s Calisto the hero in Night Walker! Maybe someday our series will cross… You never know! LOL

About this Book:
Rancher Adam Sloan is more than meets the eye. As the heir to his Pack, the sexy werewolf’s biggest challenge is keeping his kin’s true nature under wraps. But a group of jaguar shifters threatens to reveal the pack, blasting into town killing humans in plain sight. And when he smells one at the local diner, his standing orders are to take her out.
Lana Turpin doesn’t realize she’s a moving target. Raised in the foster system, she only knows that she blacks out during the new moon and wakes up without remembering a thing. But now she’s being tracked by some strange organization that wants her back—even though she’s never stepped foot inside their compound. And the stranger across the diner is watching her like an enemy.
It should be a simple mission for Adam, but when he touches the frustratingly beautiful Lana, his inner wolf howls…mate. Now, the two must find and stop the people who hunt her…and Adam must keep his own family from killing the only woman he will ever love.
