Hooking up is only the beginning of the fun in this sexy and irresistible second installment of the thrilling New Adult series, Boomerang.

Adam Blackwood has it all. At twenty-two, he’s fabulously wealthy, Ryan Gosling-hot and at the top of the heap in the business world. His life is perfect, until a scandal from his past resurfaces and knocks the tech wunderkind down, throwing his company, Boomerang, a hook-up site for millennials, into chaos.

Three years ago, Adam married his high school love—and then lost her in a tragic accident. Now, the heartbreak and guilt he’s tried to bury with work and women begins to take over his life.

Alison Quick, the twenty-one-year-old daughter of a business tycoon—and the very ex-girlfriend of Boomerang’s former intern, Ethan—has a problem of her own. She’s got one chance to prove to her father that she deserves a place in his empire by grabbing control of Boomerang and taking Adam down.

But as Alison moves in on him, armed with a cadre of lawyers and accountants, she discovers there’s much more to Adam and Boomerang than meets the eye. Will earning her father’s approval come at the price of losing her first real love? It appears so, unless Adam can forgive her for wrecking his life and trying to steal his livelihood. But Alison hopes that old adage is right. Maybe love can conquer all.

Quick & Dirty: Fun, sexy new adult contemporary romance novel that was very entertaining to read!

Opening Sentence: Some nights call for a Catwoman costume.

The Review:

Adam Blackwood is on top of the world.  At the age of twenty-two he is CEO of Boomerang, a very successful dating site, and he is planning on expanding into the entertainment industry by opening his own production company.  To do this he will have to get some investors and he has his sights set on business tycoon, Graham  Quick.  He figures that with his impressive resume and very successful business he will easily close the deal, but he never expected Quick to play dirty. Adam doesn’t have a perfect past and if certain things about him are released to the press it could ruin his entire career.  Adam also never expected that after all this time the only women he has met since his last tragic relationship would be Alison Quick.

Alison is on a mission to prove herself to everyone, especially her father.  She just recently graduated from college and she has her first big assignment to figure out if Adam Blackwood is worth investing millions of dollars of her father’s money.  She is suppose to see if there is any kind of dirt on golden boy before they decide to invest, but the more she gets to know Adam the more she realizes he isn’t at all who she thought he was.  The more time they spend together the more she feels drawn to him and his mysterious past.  Will she blow her one chance at pleasing her father or will she throw away the only boy she has ever truly loved?

When I first met Alison in Boomerang I felt like she was a very misunderstood girl and I actually felt really bad for her.   I was really excited that she was the protagonist for Rebound and couldn’t wait to get to know her better. I will admit that at times she was a slightly frustrating character because she was really naive about certain things and she let other people take advantage of her.  But at the same time she is a very smart girl that can be extremely resourceful when she wants to be.  In many ways she has felt lost in her life, but once she figures out what she actually wants she stops at nothing to get it.  While she has made some terrible decisions in her past that have really hurt people she cared about, she generally is a really nice girl that will do anything for the people she loves.  In many ways she is a walking contradiction, but I actually really liked that about her.  Even with her flaws I thought she was a wonderful character and I’m so glad we got to read her story.

Adam turned out to be so different then what I was expecting. In Boomerang he came across as a slightly socially awkward person that has been ridiculously successful for how young he is, but it turns out that he’s not awkward at all.  He is very comfortable in his own skin and the only reason he seemed off in social situations is because he doesn’t like to let people get close to him. He has a tragic past that has turned him into a person that has a hard time connecting with people.  He has put up all these walls to protect his heart so he will never be hurt again, and it really broke my heart.  He has put all his energy and drive into being successful in business, but his personal life is really lacking. The more I read about Adam the more I loved him.  I have always been a sucker for a broken boy that needs the right girl to heal him.

The best thing about Rebound was the romance.  My moment between Adam and Alison is actually when they first met.  They both attend a costume party together and because they both are wearing a mask, neither of them knows who the other person is.  This makes it so they can both be way more open and vulnerable than either of them are normally.  They have this amazing instant connection that continued to grow throughout the story.  Their relationship is full of great tension and plenty of steamy moments, but it never felted rushed or unrealistic. I thought that everything developed perfectly and thought that they made a wonderful couple.

Rebound is a fun story full of humor, sexy romance, and emotions.  I have come to realize that my favorite new adult series are full of companion novels versus a continuation of one couples story.  I really enjoy seeing old characters but it is very refreshing to be in new characters heads.  I thought that the mix of drama and tender moments was really well done in this story.  It was a very entertaining read that also pulls at your heart strings.  Overall, I really enjoyed Rebound and can’t wait to read the Bounce! I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a great, steamy, fun contemporary romance!

Notable Scene:

We kiss and kiss, and I melt against him. We’re slippery—leather against satin—and it’s so maddening. I want to feel his skin, all of its roughness and sleek, muscled planes.

He breaks away, as if surprised by something. Like something’s switched on inside him. He ease me back a bit to look at me, but it’s like he’s actually come closer.

“What do you know about mistakes?” Zorro asks.

I’m surprised he’d bring it up again, but I answer. “Too much,” I say.

1. Boomerang

2. Rebound

3. Bounce
