About the Book:

The ultimate fall from Grace…

Once the favorite son of the Lord of the Underworld, Lokan Krayl held enviable privileges and powers. Powers that led to a devastating betrayal—murder.

Resurrected by his immortal brothers, Lokan is still trapped in purgatory. He has no way to contact his family. He has no answers. In order to find the truth about his death, and who killed him, he must escape his prison. And there’s only one way out: through the twelve gates of his eternal enemy, Osiris.

But Lokan has help. Bryn Carr, the woman who duped him once before, is his beautiful yet unwanted guide. She’s been sent by his brothers to aid him. She’s his last hope. Lokan must place his fate—and that of the mortal and immortal worlds—in the hands of the one woman he can never trust.

If I had to escape prison, it would be kind of hard to trust someone that I could never trust. But in my imagination, there would be that one moment that would click and I would have no choice but to put my life on this person’s hands..

That’s a fascinating question to me. I would like to say I could, as I would count on myself to figure out a plan that would certainly get me out in the end, but then that isn’t really placing my fate in someone else’s hands. On the other hand, if my only option for escape would be to do so, I don’t think I would have much of a choice. Unless of course the prison in question were so comfy and cosy that I didn’t mind staying there forever.

    Thank you for the giveaway!

Love this series. Not too often you find a book centering on Egyptian mythology.

If I could escape prison could I entrust my safety to someone I don’t trust. I really can’t see that to be honest. There as to be a sliver of trust before I would hand over the safety of my being to a person.

If I were escaping a prison where I was sure to die, then I think I’d trust someone to help me that I could never trust. I think if they were sent by my family, that would go a long way in giving them some of my trust to help me.

I don’t trust easily. So it would take really dire consiquences for me to trust someone who tricked me before. I would trust my TRUE feelings: “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”

Probably if I were badass enough to land in prison in the first place, and I had an opportunity to escape, even if it were with someone I didn’t trust, I’d go. I mean, I’m already “bad”, the person I’m leaving with is “bad”, my life is already pretty much in the toilet, how much worse could it possibly get?????

It’d be hard to have a person I don’t trust to be in control of my fate. After all, if that person turns on me, I’d be worse off than before. Still, if this is the ONLY way out of prison, I guess I would trust an untrustworthy person.

The wonder of books is you can earn trust back, in real life it’s not so easy. If I had to trust someone that betrayed me in the past I would go slowly and look to see if they were there because of real love for me or just to gain something for themselves. It would help that they were sent by my family. I’d love to win a copy of Eve’s books, she’s been on my potential author’s list for a while :-)

I’d like to think that if I were in prison and had the opportunity to escape – but only through the efforts of someone I believed was totally unreliable – I would calmly decide on the best choice of actions.
If I stay in prison, what happens? I get tortured horribly and die.
If I escape, what happens? If I’m caught, I get tortured horribly and die, but if I’m not caught, I’ll be free.

Actually, I’d probably be so freaked out that I’d grasp at any chance, no matter how flimsy. Maybe that’s why I’m law-abiding??

I’ve read all the previous books in the series, and I am absolutely waiting for the release of Body of Sin.

I don’t think I could unbend enough to put my freedom in the hands of another person or being. I don’t like giving up control to someone else to that degree. I fall or go forward on my own merit and effort. Thanks for the contest.

I don’t know tough question. I don’t think I can, simply because I would be too paranoid thinking about how this person might betray me again instead of focusing on my escape!

Hmm I guess if I had to escape prison my chances of doing so on my own would be pretty slim and so I’d cautiously receive aid from someone I’d never trust.

Good question! To take a leaf out of Captain Jack Sparrow’s book…”A dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly… stupid.” So I’d accept help, but I’d be watching like a hawk for the person to double cross me.

I don’ t think I’d trust then but would stick with them as long as it would take to escape. Then I go my own way.

I think i had the same thought as some others i would trust long enough to get out of prison and then have my own plan to do something incase he or she did something that cause me not to trust them once we got out. That would make then wish he or she had never betrayed me. I would have some kind of ins. Thanks for the chance to win . joannie jscddmj [at]aol[dot]com
