Meet Justin:

justin card

I wish I could stop: missing Peyton. Stop asking myself, what if? You’d think it’d get easier after three years, but it hasn’t. I’ve just gotten a hell of a lot better at hiding the truth. Pretending I don’t search her out in the halls, checking to see if she’s all right. Wondering what she’s thinking, what she’s doing, and acting like it doesn’t make my whole damn day when I catch her smiling. I used to be the reason for Peyton’s smiles….and although she thinks she hates me now, I’m gonna be the reason for them again.

My biggest accomplishment is: gaining the respect of my Coach. Because of him I have a real choice to make soon—play ball at A&M or try my luck in the draft. I’m proud of that…and getting the quiet, pretty girl to love me once.

I’m a sucker for: hot blondes who quote baseball statistics, name their pit bull Dandelion, and smell like sunflowers.

My celebrity crush is: Jennifer Lawrence

My biggest fear is: Easy answer? Getting hurt and not being able to play college or pro ball after all.

The real answer? That I’m not worthy of love.

My drink of choice is: Coke or water

I am the happiest: when I’m playing ball. Ask me again in a few weeks and I’ll say it’s whenever Peyton is in my arms.

Nobody would believe me if they saw me: Huh. This is hard question to answer. Honestly, most people would be shocked if they learned half the stuff I do because I rarely let people in. My little brother, my best friend Carlos, and once upon a time, Peyton. She knew me better than anyone. I guess I’d say no one would believe me if they saw my notebooks. I’m no Whitman or anything, I just write to clear the noise in my head, but if playing ball doesn’t pan out, I’ve thought of getting a degree in English. Not that anyone, other than Peyton, would ever believe it.

About Rachel:

New York Times bestselling author Rachel Harris writes humorous love stories about sassy girls-next-door and the hot guys that make them swoon. Vibrant settings, witty banter, and strong relationships are a staple in each of her books…and kissing. Lots of kissing.

An admitted Diet Mountain Dew addict and homeschool mom, she gets through each day by laughing at herself, hugging her kids, and watching way too much Food Network with her husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult romances, and LOVES talking with readers!

About this Book:

One class assignment. One second chance at love. The school player is all in. Now he needs to win back the sweet commitment girl who’s forever owned his heart.

Justin Carter has a secret. He’s not the total player Fairfield Academy believes him to be. Not really. In fact, he used to be a one-woman guy…and his feelings for her never went away. Too bad he broke her heart three years ago and made sure to ruin any chance she’d ever forgive him.

Peyton Williams is a liar. She pretends to be whole, counting down the days until graduation and helping her parents at the family ranch. But the truth is, she’s done everything she can to get over Justin, and salvation is just around the corner. With graduation one short month away, she’ll soon break free from the painful memories and start her life fresh. Of course, she has to get through working with him on one last assignment first.

For Justin, nothing ever felt as right as being with Peyton, and now that fate’s given him a shot at redemption, he’s determined to make the most of it. And for Peyton…well, Justin Carter has always been her kryptonite.
