Giveaway: When I Cast Your Shadow by Sarah Porter

Summer is almost over and pretty soon it will be Fall, the time of year for thrillers, mysteries and paranormals, especially paranormals with incredibly creepy ghost stories! When I Cast Your Shadow by Sarah Porter sounds pretty crazy and I can’t wait to check this story out! This story is about a girl who gets possessed by her older brother. When I Cast Your Shadow will be out tomorrow, September 12th, from Tor Teen but in the meantime, enter for your chance to win a copy of the thrilling story!

One lucky reader will win a copy of When I Cast Your Shadow by Sarah Porter. This contest is for U.S. addresses only. A huge thanks to Tor Teen for today’s giveaway!

About Sarah:

I write stories that seem to me to be quite true enough for all practical purposes. Among them are VASSA IN THE NIGHT, THE LOST VOICES TRILOGY, and the forthcoming WHEN I CAST YOUR SHADOW and TENTACLE AND WING. Realism makes little sense to me and I experience more truth in the fantastic. I always have new novels underway, both Young Adult and Grownup/ Literary/ Speculative. When not writing my own weird stuff, I can often be found leading creative writing workshops with amazing young NYC public-school writers via Teachers & Writers Collaborative. Or I might be drawing, or gardening, or wandering wraithlike through the streets. I live in Brooklyn, land of mystery, with my awesome husband Todd and our two cats, Jub Jub and Delphine.

About this Book:

A teenage girl calls her beloved older brother back from the grave with disastrous consequences.

Dashiell Bohnacker was hell on his family while he was alive. But it’s even worse now that he’s dead….

After her troubled older brother, Dashiell, dies of an overdose, sixteen-year-old Ruby is overcome by grief and longing. What she doesn’t know is that Dashiell’s ghost is using her nightly dreams of him as a way to possess her body and to persuade her twin brother, Everett, to submit to possession as well.

Dashiell tells Everett that he’s returned from the Land of the Dead to tie up loose ends, but he’s actually on the run from forces crueler and more powerful than anything the Bohnacker twins have ever imagined….

This looks so good!! My favorite spooky stories are just like this- bringing people back and all the chaos that happens afterwards

“What are some of your favorite spooky ghost stories?” I like it when some character sees another character, and then it turns out that he couldn’t have, because just at the moment of sighting the second character had died far, far away.

I like ghost stories like Megan crewe Give up the Ghost and I like stories when you realize that the person was dead all along and you freak out. Like the six sense movie, it still trips me up. lol

My favorite ghost story is…all of them?! Yes, all of them. My first love in books and movies is and will always be horror and spooky and ghosts, pretty much anything that is considered “scary”. I’m fairly new to reading YA and I’ve been searching for anything and everything that incorporates the elements (ghosts and spooky) that I love in adult books, and When I Cast Your Shadow looks like it’ll fit right in.

Thanks so much for the chance!
