About the Book:

Welcome to York, England: the most haunted city in the world.

Miranda Tennant arrives in York with a terrible, tragic secret. She is eager to lose herself amid the quaint shops, hoping she won’t run into the many ghosts who supposedly roam the cobblestone streets. Then she meets Nick, an intense, dark-eyed boy who knows all of York’s hidden places and histories. Miranda wonders if Nick is falling for her, but she is distracted by another boy — one even more handsome and mysterious than Nick. He lives in the house across from Miranda and seems desperate to send her some sort of message. Could this boy be one of York’s haunted souls?

Soon, Miranda realizes that something dangerous — and deadly — is being planned. And she may have to face the darkest part of herself in order to unravel the mystery — and find redemption.

I read a really great ghost story when I was young about a girl whose bratty step sister makes friends with a ghost who really just wants to kill her so she’ll be with her forever and the MC has to decide whether she loves her enough to save her. Really great ending. (I think it’s called WAIT TIL HELEN COMES)

I’ve always liked ghost stories, but I think that started back in school when we read the works of Edgar Allen Poe, they always got me thinking along the lines of ghosts and haunts. My favorite was, The Tell Tale Heart. Still gives me goose bumps!

This is going to make me sound really old but I grew up with R.L. Stine’s Fear Street Sagas (the prequels to the Fear Street series) and there are many many ghost stories in each book! I would have to say that series is my favorite when it comes to ghost stories.

My favourite ghost story is one my grandfather told me about La Llorona. As a child he had been told a variation of her story wherein she fed her children to her pigs, so he was terrified of her. It didn’t help that they lived near a cemetery in NM and so when he woke up in the early hours of the morning to see a woman in White walk by his window headed straight for it he was so scared that when he opened his mouth to call to his mom nothing came out.

My fav. ghost story is Ghost Hunter by Lori Brighton. The ghosts in this story were secondary characters, but they really made the story for me and made it seem more alive

My favorite ghost story…hmm…I can’t think of any stories specific to ghosts, but the Hex Hall series has ghosts in it….if that counts.

My favorite ghost story is The Haunted by Jessica Verday. It’s a love story between a girl and boy who is a ghost. She’s the only human who can see him and she can only touch him on the day of his death.

My favorite ghost story is one I heard when I was 5. It was about about this kid being murdered by evil clowns or maybe just one in the park in front of the school. The details evade me. Anyway, his ghost lives in the boarded-up building in the park. kids would peer through the boards and then run screaming and then go back and repeat.

    It was ridiculous.
