Giveaway: Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler

Hunger is the first book in the Horsemen of the Apocalypse series by Jackie Morse Kessler.  I love the premise of this series.  Thanks to Jackie, one lucky commenter has a chance to win a copy of Hunger and some really awesome swag.  As always, details are at the end of the post.

Synopsis (Product Description):

“Thou art the Black Rider. Go thee out unto the world.”

Lisabeth Lewis has a black steed, a set of scales, and a new job: she’s been appointed Famine. How will an anorexic seventeen-year-old girl from the suburbs fare as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?

Traveling the world on her steed gives Lisa freedom from her troubles at home: her constant battle with hunger, and her struggle to hide it from the people who care about her. But being Famine forces her to go places where hunger is a painful part of everyday life, and to face the horrifying effects of her phenomenal power. Can Lisa find a way to harness that power — and the courage to battle her own inner demons?

I definitely think rage would be the scariest. They’d all freak me out, but I think rage would be the most vicious.

I would say the Red Horse. Only because it sounds to be brutal with the blood and everything.

I think what I’d be afraid of most would be pestilence/disease because it’s gross and scary. It would be a horrible sight.

+1 The idea of the Hunger horseman scares me most because I’m totally snappish and not quite myself when I’m lacking anything – including food!

+1 I would have to say Famine scares me the most because it would hurt a ton to starve to death.

I thought about this one long and hard, and I have to go with Pestilence. Death is kinda instantaneous, or at least way faster than the rest, so it actually seems like the best of the bunch. War is bad, but you can make it out the other side, and possibly not even be hurt. I debated between famine and Pestilence, and finally chose Pestilence because I think that it will be more painful that famine.
