Giveaway: Undead and Undermined by MaryJanice Davidson

Watch out world, and be sure to cover your neck—Queen vampire Betsy Taylor is back and feistier then ever! UNDEAD AND UNDERMINED is the tenth book in bestselling author MaryJanice Davidson’s hilariously entertaining Undead series. Her famous undead heroine, Betsy Taylor returns in UNDEAD AND UNDERMINED with a killer bite and a whole new set of problems when she wakes up in a morgue, face-to-face with a coroner’s saw.

Thanks to the wonderful team over at Penguin Group USA, two of you who comment on this post will win a copy of Undead and Undermined by Mary Janice Davidson!  As always, see details below.

About MaryJanice:

MaryJanice Davidson invented a) her children, and b) the vampire chick lit genre. Also the Internet. She is kind to (some) children and (occasional) small animals, and enjoys referring to herself in the third person. Appearing several times a year on the best-seller list, as well as occasional Federal “person of interest” sheets, she takes time from the living hell that is being paid to do what she loves best to seek out the nearest Cinnabon franchise. Her goals include working for world peace, figuring out how to make potstickers, and speaking at writer and reader conferences around the world. (Australia is still recovering.)

About the Book:

Betsy’s next undead adventure takes her deep into the depths of a Chicago morgue. Ever wonder what it’s like to wake up cold and naked on an embalming table? Betsy can tell you! Waking up in a morgue is bad enough, but having to interrupt the coroner (“you can’t have my brain,”) is her cue to leave. Having nearly scared the undertaker to his own death, Betsy hits the pavement and heads back to her St. Paul mansion to find her friends and family desperately searching for her.  The last thing Betsy remembers is reconciling with her husband, Eric, after time-traveling with her sister. Their travel even included a side trip to hell, literally. But the question still remains, how did she wind up naked, dead and in a Chicago morgue? Betsy soon realizes that she and her sister, Laura didn’t time travel alone. An evil force, The Marc Thing, followed them back in time with the intent to kill Betsy when she was young, ending her future reign as queen. But it’s not just Betsy’s future that is at stake; everyone in her circle of friends, undead or alive, could be in danger. And it will be a cold day in hell, literally, before she lets the unthinkable happen.

I feel totally lucky that a few months ago, I found this series available as downloadable audio book through my public library. I went through the first 9, one right after the other, and was psyched to find out about Undead and Undermined. I requested it through my library (being a school librarian, I’ve had to put my purchases on hold during the summer) and was shocked (and ecstatic!) to get a notice yesterday that it was available for me to pick up! How awesome! Am about to sit down with it now and I can’t wait!!

Color me cranky about the ending of the last Betsy book. (I’m sure the author hasn’t heard THAT before!) That’s probably a compliment, since it shows I’m emotionally invested in the series, but that’s the best spin I can put on it.
On the other hand, people who haven’t started reading the books have a lot of good, snarky fun ahead of them. As other commenters have said, start at the beginning, with Undead and Unwed.
