Please welcome Xandra Morgan and Declan Chumomisto from Soulbound by Tessa Adams. Soulbound is the first novel in the Lone Star Witch series and it will be released tomorrow, February 5, 2013. I hope you enjoy this inside look into the magical Xandra and Declan!
DFT: What did you think when you first laid eyes on your mate?
Declan: I was upset because after meeting her and talking with her it became a lot more difficult to kill her.
Xandra: He scared the hell out of me. He was so powerful and dangerous and HOT that I had no idea what to do with him. Plus, I figured out pretty quickly that he was there to kill me.
DFT: Describe your mate in three words.
Declan: Heartbreaking, More-powerful-than-she-knows, Mine
Xandra: Terrifying, Mysterious, Mine
DFT: What is the most unique place you have ever made woopie together?
Declan: Xandra’s burned out room after she nearly set herself on fire.
Xandra: Backstage at the Paramount Theater in Austin, TX after one of Declan’s magic shows.
DFT: What would you do if you caught someone hitting on your mate?
Declan: Turn him into something vile. I’m not a warlock for nothing and Xandra doesn’t have enough personal boundaries.
Xandra: Are you kidding? Someone hits on my mate every day. It’s gotten so I ignore it. Mostly. I do spend a lot of time fantasizing about turning women into frogs.
DFT: Describe how your mate smells to you.
Declan: Perfect. She smells perfect.
Xandra: Like fire and pine trees and magic. He smells like magic.
DFT: If you could have your mate dress in anything you want, and we do mean ANYTHING, what would choose?
Declan: I’m partial to the wicked witch of the west outfit she wore to yank her mom’s chain on the last solstice … Barring that, the red fuck me shoes she was wearing on the night I first saw her again would be nice, as long as she wasn’t wearing anything else.
Xandra: Declan has this amazing leather coat. It’s the sexiest thing he owns and I want to jump him pretty much anytime he wears it. As for Declan, he likes me naked pretty much all the time.
DFT: Leather or lace?
DFT: What is your idea of a romantic date?
Declan: One where no one tries to kill Xandra. It doesn’t sound like much, but it’s harder to achieve than you might expect.
Xandra: One where nobody dies, especially me.
DFT: What is the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in front of your mate?
Declan: Cried. I thought she was dead and … well, you get the point. It was bad.
Xandra: Set my room on fire with a spell mix-up.
DFT: What was the first thing that attracted you about your mate?
Declan: Her absolute ineptitude with magic. She was a mess, seriously. But she had a great smile. I also liked when she tossed into the lake the ridiculous cowboy boots the Queen (her mother) made her wear to her Kas Djedet.
Xandra: Have you seen him? What didn’t attract me?
DFT: Apart from the obvious, which three parts of your mate’s body are your personal favorites and why?
Declan: The backs of her knees, because they’re incredibly sensitive. Her palm and her shoulder because that’s where my magic first marked her as mine. The small of her back because it’s sexy. Really sexy.
Xandra: His eyes. He has the most amazing eyes. His neck, because it’s incredibly sensitive. And his hair. Holy hell, does he have the sexiest, silkiest hair.
DFT: Foreplay or roleplay?
Declan: Foreplay. I like to make Xandra crazy.
Xandra: Foreplay. Declan makes me crazy.
DFT: Underwear – yes or no.
Declan: Uh, no.
Xandra: I try but Declan keeps ripping mine off.
DFT: What is the best decision you have ever made?
Declan: Not killing Xandra.
Xandra: That was a good decision—thanks. As for me, my best decision was getting rid of the witch whisperer. She was a pain in the butt.
Declan: She really was. But I don’t think you actually got rid of her. She called last night. I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d freak out.
Xandra: Seriously? She called? Again? Ugh. I swear, it’s like my mother hates me. Why else would set that woman on me?
Declan: If it helps, I think Salima’s acting on her own this time around.
Xandra: That’s just what they want you to believe. Trust me, my mom’s behind this. A woman who would poison her own child with belladonna to bring out her magic has no boundaries. None. Zip. Zero. Why didn’t you just tell the witch whisperer that I died?
Declan: I was afraid your mother would demand confirmation. She scares me.
Xandra: Nothing scares you.
Declan: Your mother does.
DFT: Between the sheets or on top?
Declan: Does it matter?
Xandra: I’m partial to the shower. Less chance I’ll set anything on fire.
DFT: My mate tastes like ?
Xandra: Cinnamon and danger.
DFT: The quickest way to turn my mate on is by ________.
Declan: Setting the stage. A little music. A little wine. A massage …
Xandra: “Forgetting” to wear underwear. I swear, it’s a little bit of a fetish with him.
DFT: Would your mate rather have chocolates or flowers for Valentine’s Day?
Declan: My mate would rather have jewelry. Or handcuffs. Maybe both.
Xandra: I’m a jewelry fan, myself. As for Declan, he’d rather have flowers. Pink ones.
Declan: I’d rather have sex, actually. And handcuffs. Handcuffs are good.
Tracy Wolff/Tessa Adams/Tracy Deebs collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Her first novel, A Christmas Wedding, appeared on the scene in November of 2008 and since then she has sold eighteen novels—including Erotic Suspense and Paranormal to New American Library, Contemporary Superromance to Harlequin, and Paranormal Young Adult Romance and Contemporary Young Adult Romance to Walker Books. Now a part time English professor at her local community college, she lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and three sons. She was a 2010 Rita nominee.

About this Book:
As the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter—and a member of Ipswitch’s Royal family—Xandra Morgan should be a witch of incredible power. But things don’t always turn out like you expect…
While she hasn’t lived up to her family’s expectations, Xandra has come to terms with her latent magic and made a life for herself in Austin, Texas, running a coffee shop where she makes potions of a non-magical nature. While things aren’t perfect, Xandra is happy—until she runs into powerful warlock Declan Chumomisto.
Xandra hasn’t seen Declan in years, and though she’s still overwhelmed by his power, she doesn’t trust him. And when her own powers awaken one night and lead her to the body of a woman in the woods bearing the symbol of Isis—the same one that has marked Xandra since the day she met Declan—she’s filled with a terrible suspicion, soon confirmed: the woman is connected to him.
Xandra doesn’t want to believe that Declan is capable of murder, but as the body count mounts, and Xandra’s own powers spiral out of control, she’s not sure she can trust her own instincts…
