Movie: The Duff

The Duff Movie Poster

I don’t know how many of you are excited to see The Duff hit theaters in April 2015, but I know that I am. This looks like my kind of chick flick! Personally, I feel like there haven’t really been any great chick flicks since the 90’s when Never Been Kissed and She’s All That came out. I loved those movies and this one looks like it might be just as good, which has me super pumped! Not only does it look totally hilarious, but it looks like one of those movies that will make you sigh and be all giddy with your friends. A romantic comedy done right!

To be perfectly honest, I had not read the book The Duff by Kody Keplinger until very recently. I actually saw the trailer for the movie and thought it looked adorable. I remembered that I had an unread copy of the book sitting on my selves, so I decided to pick it up. Personally, I really enjoyed the book and thought it was hilarious and delivered a good message (a full review is to come). But I’m not going to lie, there was a lot sex in the book and I just didn’t see how they were going to turn this into a movie with a PG-13 rating. Luckily after watching the trailer again it looks as if they did decide to change the storyline and I think it will be for the better. It will still deliver the same great message the book gave us, but in a slightly different way. I know that this will probably be a disappointment to avid fans of the book, but I think it will actually be an improvement to the story.

I am totally planning on getting a group of girlfriends together and going to see it this opening weekend. What about you? Are you excited for the movie? If you have read the book, do you think it will portray what you loved about the book? CBS Films has released a trailer that we have featured below. Let us know what you think and if you want to see the movie or not!
