Our introduction comes today from Michelle. Thanks to Emmy, I got word that Michelle was looking to close the doors on her lovely blog and possibly join our team. We all jumped at the chance to have Michelle come to the dark side. She’s well read, a fantastic writer, and brings her knowledge of blogging to our team effort. Michelle is going to do reviews for us and take on some administrative duties as well. You can read some of Michelle’s lovely reviews after this post. Please welcome Michelle to the team.

I have many passions in life, and like many of the ladies on Dark Faerie Tales, one of them is reading. But before I tell you about what I love to read, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Michelle, and my life is constantly revolving. I’m in my early 30s, have survived cancer, and love cupcakes. I was previously a slave to Corporate America, and have found solace in a less stressful work environment (which involves books). And while I was born in the Philippines, home will always be California. You see, I have lived up and down the Sunshine State, and you can really call me a California Girl (Don’t worry, I won’t be upset, I promise). I live in San Diego now, home of Comic Con, many microbreweries, and my new laid-back lifestyle. I own a Shiba Inu, named Momo, and if you knew me from before, you’ve probably seen my picture a million times.
I read, a lot. I will gladly sacrifice sleep to read a book. My first book love was “Nancy Drew and the Clockwork Tower” by Carolyn Kneene, and as I grew older, it morphed into “A Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley and “Farenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. Today, my tastes vary, ranging from Fantasy and Paranormal, to Contemporary and Historicals. Most recently, my tastes have stayed in the Young Adult genre. I find it refreshing to read, and the talent that comes out of that genre? Amazing!
My favorite authors, to date, are Leigh Bardugo, Cath Crowley, RL LaFevers, Tahereh Mafi, Melina Marchetta, Jodi Meadows, Stephanie Perkins, and Michelle Zink. I know there are a million other amazing authors out there, but for me it’s all about the emotion that the author’s writing brings out of me. While I have my preferences, I am open to anything and everything. I love talking about books as much as I love reading them. To say that I am excited to be a part of Dark Faerie Tales…well, that’s an understatement.
