Our introduction comes today from Shirene. She answered our call for new book reviewers last month and we are excited to have her join Dark Faerie Tales. Shirene offers her reading expertise and such wonderful insight to her reviews. Shirene is going to do reviews for us and you can read some of her lovely work after this post. When I saw the post on December 12, 2012 entitled Twas the Help Wanted Ad by Sheila, I knew I had no other choice than to at least reply. To my surprise and delight I was asked to write a review and as they say the rest is history.
Hi, I’m Shirene and I have lived in too many places around the world to consider one place home. My travels have taken me from Pennsylvania to Florida and as far away as Australia and New Zealand. I currently reside near Mickey Mouse’s home in Orlando and have no immediate desire to pack up and move again.
My delight in books came early on and I knew that I would one day be involved in some part of the writing process. When I finally attended college my love of literature guided my choices so it is with no surprise that I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature and Journalism and a little bit of Psychology thrown in to make things interesting.
My day job finds me in an office managing commercial real estate agents. Sometimes succeeding and other times not so much. But I was struggling to fill a void in my life which I am grateful to say this fills nicely. My two joys of reading and sharing.
I hope to add my voice to the amazingly talented team at Dark Faerie Tales for many years to come or until someone kicks me out. But until such time you will find, I hope, that my reviews are heartfelt and I hope an insight into the story and maybe help you decide whether you want to spend your hard earned money on a book or not.
Now as to my favorite authors there are way to many to list but the top five currently are Lynsay Sands, Debbie Macomber, Darynda Jones, Molly Harper, and Kiera Cass. I prefer modern romances currently but every now and then you will find me knee deep in my favorite Barbara Cartland or Victoria Alexander novel. I must admit that if I can get my books via Kindle or iBooks then I’m at my happiest. My iPad is always with me so I can always sneak 10 minutes to just delve into the latest novel at lunch.
