Publishing News: Books to Watch (3)

Below is my updated Books to Watch list.  It’s another great list that I’m really excited about.  You can check out my previous Books to Watch posts here.

Synopsis (Publishers Marketplace):

1. Devon Monk’s DEAD MAN’S MOON, in the steampunk America of the 1800′s where strange creatures, machines, and magic aim to claim the same scrap of land and sky, sometimes all a man can count on is his honor, his word, and his claws, and STRANGE HUNT, to Anne Sowards at Roc.

2. Laura Wright’s THE ETERNAL series, in which three renegade vampire brothers – the last descendents of the sexually gifted Breeding Male – are morphed early to find and kill the leader of the Impure Bloods who is trying to destroy all pure-blooded vampires, for publication starting October 2010, in a three-book deal.

3. NYT and USA Today bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz’s WITCHES OF EAST END, following the lives of the Beauchamp girls, as they struggle to stop an arch nemesis and restore the delicate balance between good and evil, for publication in spring 2011, and a second adult fantasy novel; plus two books in the new WOLF PACT series for publication beginning in winter 2010; and three more Blue Bloods books, BLUE BLOODS: KEYS TO THE REPOSITORY, BLUE BLOODS: BLOODY VALENTINE, a romantic novella; and BLUE BLOODS: THE GRAPHIC NOVEL.

4. Jackie Morse Kessler’s RAGE, the sequel to HUNGER, about a female cutter who becomes the avatar of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, for publication in Spring 2011.

5. Kelly Gay writing as Kelly Keaton’s DARKNESS BECOMES HER, (GODS & MONSTERS, Book 1), in which a hardened teen on the run searches for the truth about her monstrous heritage with a group of misfit kids in a post-apocalyptic New Orleans, a city state now run by the creatures of the night, in a two-book deal, for publication in Spring 2011.
