Synopsis:

First released in the HUNTRESS anthology, get caught up in the magic and sensuality of bestselling author Christine Warren’s erotic paranormal short story “Devil’s Bargain.” Now available for the first time ever as a standalone e-book. It takes a real man to satisfy the powers and passions of this supernatural huntress.

Supernatural bounty hunter Lilli Corbin made a pact with the Prince of Hell: She agreed to recover a book of prophecies. When she learns it could trigger the apocalypse, Lilli is forced to make the ultimate choice: save her soul, or the man she loves?

Quick & Dirty: Lilli made a deal with a devil.

Opening Sentence: “Sitting at the right foot of the devil could give a girl a complex about her pedicure.”

Excerpt: No

The Review:

Lilli made a deal with a devil, Sam, in order to catch a particularly nasty bad guy. She only had to agree to three favors, and so far she has fulfilled two of his requests, so despite her hesitation at meeting him again, this could finally gain her freedom back. When he asks her to find a lost possession and only gives her three days she knows that she might have a hard time with this one.

Aaron is at his uncle’s house when he stumbles across a very rare and valuable book, as he cracks it up to study it he hears a noise. He finds a beautiful bounty hunter looking through his uncle’s shelves, it’s just too bad when she notices him that she throws a knife at him. Lilli and Aaron end up in a fight until they both decide to just figure out what is going on instead of killing each other.

Once they realize that what Sam is looking for is a whole lot nastier than Lilli realized she is faced with the impossible choice of saving her own soul or saving the man she has come to care about.

I was kind of shocked to realize that this was a novella without a series, that being said, it was definitely a good read with an interesting world. It’s one I wouldn’t mind seeing more of, it’s full of magic and demons and hell bloods. Lilli is really interesting as a bounty hunter that makes deals to catch really bad guys. Kind of makes you think.

Aaron is a sexy sorcerer and they make a smoking hot couple. I was kind of miffed that the novella wasn’t longer. I was ready to read more about them!

Notable Scene:

Seven long years, Lilli had made a deal with the devil: in return for his permission to enter his portion of the underworld and bring out a fugitive she’d been hired to apprehend, she agreed to do him three unspecified favors in the future.
