Supernatural Smack Down: Elisabeth Naughton’s Demetrius (Round 1)

Round 1: Fighting for DFT – Demetrius

Demetrius vs. Tess Davies

Name: Demetrius

Book Series: ?Eternal Guardians

Job:? Argonaut; Defends the human world and the Argolean realm from threats of the Underworld and one seriously twisted goddess who’s hell-bent on seeing Argolea destroyed.

Height: 6’8”

Weight:? 300 lbs

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Black

From (Location): ?Argolea (Realm established by Zeus for the descendants of the great heroes

Significant Other: Isadora, Heir to the throne of Argolea?

Signature Move:? I’m wicked with a blade.

Kill Highlights: ?The only way to ensure a daemon doesn’t regenerate is to decapitate the SOB.

Enemies: ?Daemons, witches…basically anything that gets in my way

Favorite Pastime: Hunting daemons

Other Facts: Descendent of the famed hero Jason; can trace his lineage back to Jason & Medea; Loner: the most cruel and terrifying of all the Guardians.

Author: Demetrius doesn’t like to talk, so to coax some answers out of him, we’re going to do a Q&A. Welcome, Demetrius! Aren’t you excited to be participating in the Supernatural Smackdown event?

Demetrius (glowering): Contests are a fucking waste of time. I’m only here because I’m being forced to participate. I’d rather be out kicking some daemon ass. (Hear that author? Write me into a bloody battle over this any day.)

Author (chuckling): Yes, I hear you. I always here you. Why don’t you tell everyone a little bit about yourself.

Demetrius: What you see is what you get. Step in my way and I’ll take you down. Mess with my soul mate and I promise you won’t live long enough to regret it. (Ask those witches who kidnapped Isadora.)

Author: Oh yes, the witches. Why don’t you tell everyone what happened when Isadora was kidnapped by witches.

Demetrius: They didn’t live long, lets just put it that way. And witch goo is disgusting. My skin still hasn’t healed from all that acidic yellow blood.

Author: Your Argonaut kin, Gryphon, said he prefers fighting witches over daemons. Do you agree?

Demetrius: Gryphon doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Daemons are a hundred times worse than witches. Ask him now and I bet his answer will be different.

Author: Probably. But let’s not talk too much about Gryphon. It depresses me. What do you like best about serving with the Argonauts?

Demetrius: Decimating daemons. Three or four at a time I can handle easily. And if there’s one goal I have above all others it’s to see Atalanta killed before she can destroy Argolea. She’s like a festering wound, one that just won’t heal. And until she’s dead, there will be no peace. Plus, she’s got it out for my girl…and like I said before, that doesn’t fly with me. (And for the record, you should be depressed over what happened to Gryphon. You’re responsible.)

Author (sighing): I know, don’t remind me. Why do you hate Atalanta so much?

Demetrius: Let’s just say the goddess managed to make my life a living hell. It’s personal between the two of us. I won’t rest until she’s dead.

Author: What do the other Argonauts think of you?

Demetrius: Like I give a rip.

Author: Answer the question.

Demetrius (crossing his arms over his chest and glaring): They think I’m a liability. But what the hell do they know? Just because I don’t like to get all buddy-buddy like Zander or in your face like Cerek doesn’t mean I’m not damn good at what I do.  And when the Argonauts need me, they know I’m always there. I might not be the friendliest, I might not be the easiest to get along with, but in a fight, I’m the guy you want watching your back. ‘Cause trust me, I’m the guy that’ll make sure your back stays in one piece.

Author: True. But you’ve got secrets. Some pretty dark ones.

Demetrius: Big flippin’ deal. Yeah, I’ve got secrets. But lets get real…who the hell doesn’t? Okay, mine are worse than most, but I’ve stayed mum not because I’m afraid of what the other Argonauts will think but to protect Isadora. That counts for a lot, doesn’t it? Bottom line is, though, you don’t like my reasoning, tough shit. I really don’t care what you think.

Author (chuckling): Ah, you have always been one of my favorites, Demetrius.

Demetrius (glowering again): No one would know that by what you write. Are we done here or what?

Author: Yes, we’re done. Can I tell everyone about your book?

Demetrius (rolling his eyes): You’re going to anyway, so get on with it.

About the Book:

DEMETRIUS—He’s the hulking, brooding warrior his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damaged. And given his heritage, he knows it’s best to keep everyone at arm’s length.

Isadora is missing. The words pounded through his head like a frantic drumbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius had done all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she was gone—kidnapped. To get her back, he’ll have to go to the black place in his soul he’s always shunned. As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought. And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.
