LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE…..
Book Series: Deadglass Trilogy
Height: 5’ 2”
Hair Color: Blue-black
Eye Color: Silver
From (Location): Seattle
Significant Other: None. Relationships are a recipe for disaster.
Signature Move: The Hammer
Kill Highlights: I’ve killed more aptrgangr than you’ve seen in your life.
Enemies: Drekar and Aptrgangr. I won’t rest until they’re all dead.
Favorite Pastime: Biking.
Other Facts: My cat helps me detect when a soul in possession of a body is not its original owner. I carry a small hammer, hollow iron needles, matches and a running iron for branding runes into the Aptrgangr’s skin, which I use to banish the wraith beyond the Gate to the Land of the Dead. When not hunting Aptrgangr, I ink protection runes at my small tattoo parlour, Thor’s Hammer.
What’s up? I’m Grace Mercer. If you need a job done, I’m your merc. Don’t call me small; I can kick your ass from here to Ereshkigal’s throne. I’m slave bonded to the Drekar Regent, so usually you’d want to negotiate the payment with him. But the new Regent is too busy messing in his lab to pay attention to his new cadre of mercs, even if we need the money to pay off our blood debts, so you can negotiate directly with me this time. Spying? Sure. Stealing? Yeah, I can slip in and out of a building without the ghosts even knowing I’m there. But my real talent is killing aptrgangr – the walking dead. I know more than you ever wanted to know about wraiths who possess humans. You got one bothering you? Scaring away customers? I’ll take it down and brand it with runes that will banish it back across the Gate where it belongs. But it’ll cost you. Nothing from a dragon is free, and the Regent won’t loan his prized fighter out to just anybody.
I’ve been training to fight every day since I was sixteen and taken in by the old Regent Sven Norgard. My first real fight like this, Norgard threw me in the ring with his best fighter, a werewolf. Broke my jaw in the first five minutes. Let me tell you: there is no motivation like a broken jaw. I’ve trained my ass off since then, and there is no fight I won’t win for sheer stubbornness. No one’s got the best of me since. I’ve also got protection runes tatted up and down my skin. They give me an extra kick and keep the wraiths from gaining a foothold in my body even if I’m broken and bloody after my last fight.
The new Regent is probably just as f’d up as the last, but he doesn’t know I’m here entering the ring. I’ve made a name for myself as the Reaper, but I doubt there will be too many aptrgangr in this Supernatural Smackdown. Doesn’t matter. Even human, I can still clean the ring, and when the blood has dried, we can negotiate the terms of the job. I’m the best you’re going to find anywhere in Seattle. This event is simple publicity for me. I will pay off the blood debt with or without the Regent’s help finding jobs. Those other schmucks in this tournament are fighting for fame or fortune. I’m motivated by something much more vital: my freedom. Nothing can stop me, living or dead.
A native Seattleitte, Kira spent her childhood hiking the rainy forests of the Pacific Northwest and drying out by the fire with a good book and a mug of something hot. She graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, where she met her real life Prince Charming and promptly dragged him back to sunless Seattle. She fell in love with historic, haunted cities in graduate school. Now she writes about the twisted cities of her imagination, where wraiths and shape-shifters stalk the night and love redeems even the darkest heart. When not writing, she can be found drinking inordinately large mugs of Assam tea, knitting wool socks, and raising a wee heroine and hero-in-training.

About this Book:
In this brilliant new novel in the Deadglass series, a fierce young woman’s quest entangles her in an apocalyptic endgame—and unexpected desire…
Grace Mercer’s unmatched wraith-killing ability made her the unofficial defender of a city shattered by supernatural catastrophe. So there’s no way she’ll allow the new regent of Seattle’s most powerful dragon shifter clan to “protect” her from a vicious evil stalking the ruined streets—and keep her from the freedom she’s risked everything to earn.
Leif’s science-honed instincts tell him Grace is the key to keeping shifters and humans safe. But helping this wary fighter channel her untapped power is burning away the dragon’s sensual self-control and putting a crucial alliance at risk. Soon the only chance Leif and Grace will have to save their world will be a dangerously fragile link that could forever unite their souls…or consume all in a storm of destruction.
