Supernatural Smack Down: Siege by Rhiannon Frater

LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE…..

UnZo

Name: Unknown Zombie aka UnZo

Book Series: As The World Dies

Job: Unknown, but she might be wearing a fast food smock. Hard to tell. It’s crusty.

Height: 5′ 7″

Weight: 98 lbs (she’s missing parts)

Hair Color: Dirty…er…dirty…color

Eye Color: Well, one is kind of whitish and the other is missing

From: Somewhere in Texas

Significant Other: No ring on her ring finger. Well, no ring finger. So unknown.

Signature Move: Biting!

Kill Highlights: She once ate an entire fast food restaurant by herself. Well, everyone in it.

Enemies: Tasty, tasty humans

Favorite Pastime: Eating tasty tasty humans

Other Facts: Pretty much the walking dead

Interview

DFT: How long have you been a zombie?

UnZo: grrrr argh….

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: Well, at the time of SIEGE most of the world was zombified a year and a half before, so in zombie years she’s around one and half.

DFT: Have you killed many humans since you’ve been turned?

UnZo: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-hiss

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: She came out of the Fort Worth area, so I’m guessing she ate her way through most of the city and the countryside. It’s hard to guess since she’s missing a lot of her torso, so anything she eats comes sliding back out. Sucky way to diet, huh?

DFT: What makes you the perfect killing machine?

Unzo (gnashing teeth): grrrrrraaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwh

Translation: You look TASTY!

Rhiannon: She has a killer bite. Literally. A bite is a death sentence.

DFT: What extra abilities/skills have you gained since being turned into a zombie?

UnZo: uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: The thing that makes UnZo and her comrades that’s so dangerous is the fact they feel no pain. That’s probably why she’s missing a few parts. If they get impaled on something, they just wiggle around until they get free, even if it means leaving a part of them behind. They’re relentless because all they want to do is eat and are never satisfied. They will literally destroy themselves trying to get at prey.

DFT: Do you use any weapons?

UnZo: maaaaaaaaargggghhhh

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: The zombies in the AS THE WORLD DIES universe do not use weapons unless they were holding something in their hands when they died. Since UnZo died wielding a spatula, that’s kind of her weapon. She kind of slaps it around.

DFT: What is your favorite part of the human body to eat?

UnZo: kwark

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: Well, in SIEGE the zombies do seem to show a specific taste for evisceration. It appears they really like the tender organ meat.

DFT: As a zombie, what has been your favorite kill?

UnZo: *drools*

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: UnZo can’t brag. Well, she can’t think either. But if she could, she’d answer that she once killed a guy twice her size…with a spatula to the jugular.

DFT: Why are you entering the cage match?

UnZo: qwaaaaaaaaaamorfs

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: UnZo was sadly displaced by some sort of temporal anomaly. And she’s hungry. So since she’s here and hungry, it just makes sense for her to try to get something new and tasty to eat.

DFT: What do you hope to gain if you make it past this round of the cage match?

UnZo: *slaps cage bars with spatula*

Translation: You look tasty.

Rhiannon: I think that means she gets dinner.

DFT: Why vote for you?

Unzo: *stares*

Rhiannon: You know, zombies are a rather sad lot. The only thing they have to look forward to is something good to eat. So, I say feed the zombie. A vote for UnZo is a vote against hunger.

About Rhiannon:

Rhiannon Frater is the award-winning author of the As the World Dies trilogy (The First Days, Fighting to Survive, Siege,) and the author of three other books: the vampire novels Pretty When She Dies and The Tale of the Vampire Bride and the young-adult zombie novel The Living Dead Boy and the Zombie Hunters. Inspired to independently produce her work from the urging of her fans, she published The First Days in late 2008 and quickly gathered a cult following. About this Book:

Siege is the conclusion to Rhiannon Frater’s As the World Dies trilogy, which should appeal to fans of The Walking Dead. Both The First Days and Fighting to Survive won the Dead Letter Award from Mail Order Zombie. The First Days was named one of the Best Zombie Books of the Decade by the Harrisburg Book Examiner.

The zombie illness has shattered civilization. The survivors who have found tenuous safety in Texas defend their fort against the walking dead and living bandits.

Katie has made peace with the death of her wife and is pregnant and married to Travis, who has been elected Mayor. Jenni, her stepson, Jason; and Juan—Travis’s righthand man—are a happy family, though Jenni suffers from PTSD. Both women are deadly zombie killers. In Siege, the people of Ashley Oaks are stunned to discover that the vice president of the United States is alive and commanding the remnants of the US military. What’s left of the US government has plans for this group of determined survivors.
