Throne & Court Week: Locations in ACOTAR Series

“To the stars who listen—and the dreams that are answered.” Rhysand, A Court of Mist and Fury, Page 337.

I originally wanted to write a character guide about The Inner Circle characters which are featured in A Court of Mist and Fury but then I figured it would a bit too spoilery for those who haven’t read the book yet. So I decided to check out some of the locations between A Court of Thorns and Roses and A Court of Mist and Fury. Click on the names to see a picture of what I think these locations look like.

Feyre’s Village in the Mortal Lands – Feyre’s home is close to the wall the separates the Mortal Lands and Prythian, the land of the Fae. This village reads like your typical 15th/16th century village you would find in Europe.

Prythian – This land lies north of the Mortal Lands and is home too much of the Fae. Prythian is home to seven different courts of the Fae, including the Summer, Spring, Winter and Autumn Courts and the Day, Dawn and Night Courts. Each Court dictates the weather the is seen within its boundaries.

Spring Court – The home of Tamlin and Lucian. Tamlin is the High Lord of the Spring Court. This area is perpetual spring, always beautiful and comfortable. The Spring Court also borders the Mortal Lands.

Under the Mountain – Located between the Dawn and Winter Courts, it is the home of Amarantha. Amarantha modeled her home after the Hewn City of the Night Court. This court is home to many nightmares and people who are ultimately controlled by Amarantha’s powers.

Rhy’s Home – His home lies above the Mountain that houses the home of Hewn City deep in the Night Court. His home is absolutely awesome! It is up in the mountains but has rooms that are open to the air. Magic keeps his home climate controlled. This is what I imagine I would see from the view from Rhysand’s bedroom.

The Prison – Deep in the northern mountains of the Night Court. It houses some really nasty fae and other creatures. Each door of the prison has intricate murals marking the stories of each prisoner being held in the prison.

Velaris – Also known as the City of Starlight. This city was hidden for years while Amarantha ruled over the fae of Prythian. It is the most beautiful and colorful city. It is home to many artists.

Hewn City – Also known as the Court of Nightmares. This is the home that really models the terribleness of the Night Court.

Hybern – It is an island kingdom to the west of Prythian. It is the only Fae land that doesn’t share any land with the mortals.
